For quicker recovery, I trust AccessFIX Data for Microsoft-based data access. I have a series of corrupted files and I only found one solution. This software has already cured a lot of damaged documents, back to its original form.
Installation is easy and service isn't bad at all. It's part of a good bunch of programs that's really useful to people who normally works with their PCs.
